Bank Clearance 2006

Eight of us of us ventured out on a beautiful Sunday morning last May to try to tackle the creeping malaise that is literally suffocating our waters. Nettle and weed growth has increased over recent years now that farmers are unable to spray.

We made quite an inroad into the problem and cleared about 3 miles of the Durbridge stretch. The river was running through like drinking chocolate at the time as you can see so there was no chance to drop the odd fly, alas.

Our thanks to John "strimmer" Hill, George "slasher" Gawlor, Rob "mind that tree" Fortey, Lee Smith, Adrian Armstrong, Bob "syther" Okee and Mike Mutton for all of the graft.
